Nicole Returns to the Ranch!

It is the return of the red team.. well one member of it this week on the Biggest Loser.  Nicole won the chance to return to the Biggest Loser Ranch with her amazing 87 pound weight loss.

The first episode of the season had teams that fell below the yellow line send one of their team members home with a chance to return if their partner could stay in the game for 3 weeks.

The 3 team members that never got the chance to return to the ranch were given the chance to return this week.  But for 2 of them their stay was very short.

To the surprise of the entire group, season 5 winner, Ali was standing in the gym to greet the contestants.  She was there to tell them all the host, Allison had given birth the night before and she was there to fill them in on the days surprise.

That is when the eliminated players came in.   After a quick reunion it was time to see who had won the chance to come back to the ranch.

On the Biggest Loser scale they went!

The clear winner was Nicole with her 87 at home weight loss.  She was second only to Tara in percentage of weight loss for all the season so far.

The other contestants were thrilled with her success and seemed to be motivated by her achievements at home but also scared about her opportunity to dominate the game at the ranch.

Panic set in for many of them and it wasn’t long before the gossip, game play and strategies came out.  Nicole clearly was out of her element at this point and struggled with the emotional stress that the game and the ranch has on the players.

Ron had to be rushed to the hospital with chest pains but returned after some tests and some discoveries.  He had been dealing with different ailments for most of his adult life some of which the doctors had failed to treat.  One of those was found by Dr.H and the staff when Ron was brought in for testing.

Ron returned to the ranch after recovering from from the tests and procedures and knew the chances were high that he would be below the yellow line.

The challenge this week involved the contestants balancing themselves on boards set on ropes across a pool.  The biggest surprise was the host of the challenge…  season 6′s winner Michelle.

After over an hour of standing on the boards, Sione’s determination gave him a one pound advantage at this week’s weight in with a win.

Of course, like every week, Bob and Jillian worked their teams out as hard as they possibly could.  Bob taking his team to the beach for their last chance work out and Jillian wrestling with Mike in the gym.

At the weight in, with immunity for one week, Nicole stepped on the scale first.  To the total shock of the entire room, the scale did her no favors.  After one week of being back on the biggest loser ranch, she had gained 5 pounds!

With any weight gain she automatically lost her immunity for the week and was in obvious danger to be below the yellow line.

Mike had a big week with a double digit weight loss and Tara finally had a break through week and posted a 5 pound loss.

Ron gained 3 pounds after his trip to the hospital and that was enough to put him below the yellow line with Nicole.

That left the housemates to choose who was going home.

The blue team, after last weeks vote, made a statement by both voting to send Ron home after weeks of an alliance.  But in the end, Nicole was sent packing and the red team was finished.

This episode opened my eyes to the game play that is happening on the ranch.  This season has been about life changes and “who needs this the most” type attitudes or so the cameras have been showing us but when a new player is introduced to the mix, the true players in each contestant came out… screaming!

It’s every “loser” for themselves now so we’ll see how the game changes in the weeks to come.
